Hi, after rooting the tablet you will not be able to update the tablet using OTA or Samsung Kies. You have to manually download updated ROM and flash it.

Hello for some odd reason after the root was complete my screen started to mess up. At the top and bottom were lines and my screen would be shaking, the screen would flash colors. It looked as if you were plugging in the cables to a tv for a video game system and they weren’t fully connected. Any answers to why it is doing this?

Did you ever get this fixed? I’m having the same problem.

Im having the exact same issue and i cant fix it no matter what I do. Need a fix ASAP.

        • Ted says:

Okay so I fixed mine. All I did was download samsung kies on my computer then open kies, plug in the tab 3. It will then ask if you want to upgrade to new firmware, click yes. Then just wait for it to go into download mode and finish. Make sure your tab is charged at least 70% or it won’t start the download. Let me know if it works for you.

      • I don’t know how you did this but all I get is:

“Your device’s current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies.”

By the way the screen stays black is apparently not completely true. I have 2 x Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, one that I rooted using this firmware and the other one is using the stock ROM. With the rooted one I no longer see the “Samsung” logo during startup and it actually boots into the OS but the screen seems turned off by default. After pressing a couple of buttons I get the unlock screen.

  7. Also after rooting my Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 it seems that the screen flickers once in a while, not constantly but as you are staring at the screen you see every x seconds a flickering that lasts a fraction of a second.

Everything was going along fine when the Odin program began not responding and has been that way for over 30 minutes. The last 2 messages listed In the Odin message box is Check MDS..Do not unplug the cable; then, Please wait.. Is there anything else that I can do now, or am I screwed?

  10. Luke says:

DO NOT try rooting using this method as it is most definitely faulty! Major screen flickering happening here… and everything was checked fully, MD5 check sum and model number, etc (do not trust this method)

  13. Justin says:

I have isolated the problem down with the screen flicker. The issue is that this will work for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T210, not the SM-T210R. The firmware modded is the SM-T210 firmware, which is why the screen flickers. I haven’t isolated why yet, and have been unsuccessful at upgrading through kies or on the tablet itself.
